南京艺术学院（南艺，Nanjing University of the Arts），始建于1912年，坐落于江苏省南京市，由中国文化和旅游部与江苏省人民政府共建，是江苏省唯一的综合性艺术院校，也是中国独立建制创办最早并延续至现今的高等艺术学府，中国六大艺术学院之首。其催生了中国最早的艺术学制，开创了中国最早的美术、音乐、舞蹈等大学学科，是近代以来中国艺术学高等教育的奠基者。[1]
1912年，刘海粟先生约同画友创办了上海图画美术院，1930年更名为上海美术专科学校。1922年，颜文樑先生创办了苏州美术专科学校。1952年全国高等学校院系调整中，这两所中国最早的私立美术学校与山东大学艺术系美术、音乐两科合并成为华东艺术专科学校。1958年迁校南京，1959年定名为南京艺术学院。其入选国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目、全国学校艺术教育先进单位、国家级人才培养模式创新实验区，是中国唯一一个拥有艺术学学科下全部五个一级学科博士点和博士后流动站的江苏省属重点大学。

Nanjing University of the Arts (Nanjing University of the Arts), founded in 1912, is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is jointly built by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is the only comprehensive art college in Jiangsu Province. It is also China's first independent institution of higher art and continues to the present, China's top six art schools. It gave birth to the earliest art education system in China and created the earliest university disciplines such as fine arts, music and dance in China. It is the founder of the higher education of art in China since modern times. [1]
In 1912, Mr. Liu Haisu founded the Shanghai Painting and Fine Arts Academy with painting friends, which was renamed Shanghai Fine Arts Academy in 1930. In 1922, Mr. Yan Wenliang founded Suzhou Fine Arts College. In 1952, during the national adjustment of institutions of higher learning, the two earliest private art schools in China merged with the art and music departments of the art department of Shandong University to become East China Art College. In 1958, it moved to Nanjing and was named Nanjing Institute of the Arts in 1959. It is the only key university in Jiangsu Province in China with all five first-level doctoral programs and post-doctoral stations under the discipline of art.
